The Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is happy to announce that we have received summer camp scholarship funds from the Texas Workforce Commission and the National Convergence Technology Center. Any student who applies to one of our camps and meets some basic criteria (13 or 14 years of age and attend school in Texas) will receive a full $375 scholarship while seats are available. This summer we are offering our Robocamp program (with special sections just for girls as well as co-ed camps), the XBox Game development camp, and a new AppCamp that focuses on Android app development. There are still seats available for all camps. Details and registration can be found at http://www.cse.unt.edu/robocamp.

Welcome to the UNT Department of Computer Science and Engineering for the Fall 2013 semester! Please join me in welcoming our new faculty member, Dr. Hassan Takabi. You may find out more about him on our website.

You will notice some improvements we have completed in the department over the summer, including the opening of the new Security Teaching Laboratory in F206, a new undergraduate teaching laboratory in F270, and the Student Research Collaboration Laboratory in F221. We especially invite you to visit the latter to meet your student colleagues for an espresso or meal and work out collaborative research ideas on our whiteboard wall.

Please check this website and the student email newsletters that we'll be sending out during the semester for information on our planned activities this semester. Good luck with all of your classes!
