Welcome to the UNT Department of Computer Science and Engineering for the Fall 2014 semester! Please join me in welcoming our new faculty members, Drs. Eduardo Blanco, Patrick Burke, and Mark Thompson. Dr. Robin Pottathuparambil will join us in Spring 2015. You may find out more about them on our website.

We are pleased to announce that with the ABET accreditation of our B. A. in Information Technology in August 2014, all of our undergraduate degree programs are now recognized by ABET. ABET accreditation brings extra value to your degree and certifies that our programs have "met certain standards necessary to produce graduates who are ready to enter their professions." Find out why ABET accreditation is important here.

Our major development for 2014-2015 is Grad Track for undergraduate students in Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs. Students who are admitted to Grad Track can enroll in up to nine credit hours of 5000-level graduate courses which will count toward BOTH the undergraduate degree and Master's degree. This will allow students to complete both the B. S. and M. S. degrees in five years. If you are a junior or senior with an outstanding academic record, please consider applying for this opportunity. More details may be found here.

We invite you to visit the the Student Research Collaboration Laboratory in F221 to meet your student colleagues for an espresso or meal and work out collaborative research ideas on our whiteboard wall. Please check this website and the student email newsletters that we'll be sending out during the semester for information on our planned activities this semester. Good luck with all of your classes!
